One cold and rainy day in Northeast Texas, Robin Clemons found herself getting her car checked when she spotted a dog on the other side of the road. Not long after, she saw two more dogs, which piqued her interest in what was happening across the street. Clemons asked the mechanic if he knew anything about the dogs and was told that they had been living in an empty barn for quite some time.
After realizing that the small family of dogs needed some help, Clemons quickly went back to her home to get some food for them. Later, she also brought them blankets and water. There were nine puppies and their mother who were initially wary of Clemons but happy to have something to eat. She then contacted Northeast Texas Rescue Organization (NETRO) who arrived at the location shortly after and set up traps to rescue the dogs. Within two days, all the puppies were successfully captured and taken to a shelter. However, the mother dog remained elusive towards the rescuers. The puppies were then placed in a foster home where they looked around curiously, clearly indicating that they had never experienced love before. The team from NETRO reported that “It was very apparent that they were not used to humans at all.”
As days and weeks pass, the young pups have developed a strong attachment to the expansive farm where they have been staying temporarily. The farm presents numerous fun-filled activities that keep them busy and happy. Their most delightful moments are when they get to interact with other animals that live on the farm. According to the NETRO team, the puppies are incredibly excited to make new friends with creatures they have never encountered before. Whenever they see cows approaching their enclosure, they become overjoyed and eager to learn more about these unknown animals.
Currently, the cute little puppies are in a phase of growth where they’re learning about familial relations, adjusting to new surroundings, and building trust with their caretakers. Eventually, these furry companions will be up for adoption, searching for their ideal match and a permanent home.
