During the harsh winter season, a Goldendoodle was found alone in the woods, struggling to survive due to hunger. The poor dog was forced to eat rocks, tinfoil, and other objects just to stay alive. Fortunately, a team of rescuers worked tirelessly to save her life and provide her with a better future. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, the dog’s life has been completely turned around.
Upon discovering Molly, her coat was in a dreadful state, tangled and unkempt. She had lost so much weight that her bony structure was visible. As she had been surviving in the wild for several months, searching for food scraps and fighting for survival, it was understandable that she was afraid of humans. The Wilson County Humane Society responded quickly, rescuing the poor dog and taking her to the vet for emergency treatment. Surprisingly, despite swallowing various foreign objects, Molly did not need to undergo surgery.
After shaving off Molly’s tangled fur, her path to recovery commenced with the treatment of her severe malnourishment as she was found to weigh only half of her ideal weight. The immediate priority was to look for a foster family who could provide her with a secure and caring shelter to heal. Thanks to the Burlington County Animal Alliance, a New Jersey-based foster family was located, and Traveling Fur Pet Rescue played an essential role in ferrying Molly to her new temporary home.
Molly needed some time to adapt to her new foster family’s other dogs, but she didn’t have to wait long for a forever home. According to Cheryl Sgroi, Molly’s new mother, they came across her picture through their friend, Daina Collins, who is also a foster for the rescue. A trial day was all it took for everyone to fall in love with Molly and decide to adopt her.
Molly was able to return the love that her new family gave her. She immediately hit it off with the kids and pets in the household, relishing the comfort and affection that had been missing from her existence for quite some time. These days, Molly spends her time happily playing with her newfound siblings (both fur and human) and an assortment of toys. It’s a complete turnaround from where she was not too long ago, and it’s all thanks to the kind-hearted individuals who banded together to rescue her.
Molly is thoroughly enjoying her life with her forever family, as they shared adorable pictures of her happily playing in the snow.
