“From Underdog to Champion: A Story of Resilience in a Bait Dog Fighting Against Infection”

The animal rescue team at Slapdash Deliverance in St. Louis was contacted by a concerned citizen, who had come across a dog that was tied up to a bush.

The rescuers were shocked when they saw the condition of this poor dog, who could have been used as bait for fighting dogs. The dog had severe wounds all over his body, including his face and legs, and his eyes were shut due to the injuries. The wounds had become infected as the incision was left uncovered for weeks, leading to sepsis. It was heartbreaking to see that the dog was left chained up and neglected, eventually succumbing to his injuries.

The rescuers took him to their center and provided him with medical care that involved antibiotics for several months. Furthermore, they called upon a nanny to provide 24-hour care.

It’s amazing how Marco, the canine, became a fighter just like a legionnaire. He went through a long journey of healing, but he was able to overcome it all!

Despite everything, he continues to love, depend on, and crave affection from those around him.

Currently, he resides in a caring home that has several other furry companions, and he relishes spending time with them. His bygone days of being involved in dog-fighting are over, and even though the physical marks from that time may still be present, it does not determine his worth.

At the moment, he spends most of his time snuggled up on the couch with his newly adopted family or playing around with the other children in his spacious community.
